53% of parents of Sumy Oblast schoolchildren are in favor of full-time education in schools

Specialists of the State Emergency Service have already inspected 96% of protective structures in the Sumy region.

A survey of parents of Sumy Oblast schoolchildren showed that 53% are in favor of full-time education. But the decision to open will be made for each educational institution separately.

This was reported by the head of Sumy OVA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi.

“44 shelters in educational institutions of Sumy Oblast are fully ready for use as intended. 107 dual purpose structures and the simplest shelters also received positive conclusions,” Zhyvytskyi said.

He added that the regional authorities are developing options for a mixed form of education: online/offline, alternately taking into account the capacity of shelters.

That is, at the same time there will be exactly the number of people in the school or kindergarten that the shelter can accommodate, according to regulations.

At the same time, classes will be held exclusively online in schools located in the 25-kilometer border zone or in communities where hostilities are taking place.

“For all the children who, for one reason or another, will not be able to sit down at the school desk on September 1, a distance school will start working on the basis of the Sumy regional gymnasium-boarding school for talented and creatively gifted children,” added Zhivytskyi.

He emphasized that the lessons will be conducted by the best specialists of the region.
